So you’ve got a group ready to head out into the woods and explore. Great! Part of making sure your trip is the best is making sure your accommodations are the best. When you’re camping, your accommodations just happen to be your tent. Picking out the perfect tent is easy, and we’re going to cover a few great options to get you packed up and ready for the great outdoors!
ALPS Mountaineering Lynx 4-Person Tent
First up we have the ALPS Mountaineering Lynx 4 person tent. Highly rated on Amazon for its spaciousness, ease of assembly, and durability this tent is a great fit for those of you looking for a place to rest your head during an adventure.
It is not the lightest tent available, but it is sturdy, built to last, and is great for a family or a group of friends looking to escape into the wild! Alternatively, from the same company, you can get the two-entryway Taurus 4-Person tent as well!
TETON Sports Mountain Ultra Tent; 1-4 Person Backpacking Tent for Camping
This tent is a stargazer’s dream! With a full mesh top – when you don’t have the rain cover on – you’ll be able to watch the majesty of the universe move through the night’s sky. On top of that, it boasts easy setup and take-down, waterproof rainfly for those nights the stars aren’t out anyways, and it’s built to keep the weather out. It may not be quite as durable as the ALPS mountaineering tent based on some user complaints, but most did not have an issue.
Mountainsmith Genesee 4 Tent
This tent is the lightest of the tents we’ve covered. The lightweight, and ease of setup make it a perfect tent for those long multi-day hikes through national parks, or for extended days in a hike-in campsite. Easy to set up, two doors, and made of quality materials, this tent will ensure that you stay dry, warm, and content on during your stay.
Coleman Cabin Tent with Instant Setup
Looking for something with a little more “oomph?” Well, Coleman has you covered. Their cabin tent comes equipped with darkroom technology to let you sleep during the day, and their WeatherTec system to keep you comfortable and dry. The tent is built to stay cooler in the summer to make sure that when you lay down your head, you’re able to sleep comfortably and quickly.
With its preassembled poles and instant setup feature, you’ll have your tent up in only a few moments. This tent is definitely one of the heavier tents in the group, so it is perhaps not recommended for long-distance hiking trips. If you can drive right up to your camping site however, this tent would be a wonderful addition to your camping adventure.
No matter which tent you decide on, camping is a wonderful experience for families or a group of friends. No matter your accommodations you’re bound to have an excellent time, just don’t forget the bug spray!
